Auto Car Insurance A Second Look
|
|
If you are not new to the insurance market, you might already know the two different coverage’s that are offered for by any auto car insurance company, "comprehensive" and "collision".
Comprehensive coverage might suit you best if you are the kind of person who uses his car 3-4 times a week and has it parked in the basement for the rest of the week. Comprehensive coverage will provide you protection if your car is vandalized, catches fire, stolen etc. that means any off the road incidents in general. If you are not a regular car user, you can opt for this one. |
A more frequent car user gets maximum benefit from a collision coverage as it offers protection against any collision that your car might have with another car or wall etc or any other on-road collision incidents. Signing up for both the coverage’s is the general trend that is seen as it provides the maximum protection against any untoward incident that might occur.
Lets find out whether you are a "good risk" for the insurance company. Answer the following questions honestly.
1) Do you have a poor driving record?
2) Do all the people in your insured list have a poor driving record?
3) Has your car been vandalized, stolen in the past 5 years?
4) Have you been booked for speeding?
5) Is your car a sports car?
6) Is any anti-theft mechanism installed in your car?
If you answered the first 5 questions as "Yes" and the last question as "No" then you are not a good risk at all. In fact you may considered as a "bad risk".
However, if your answered the first 5 questions is a "No" and the last question is a "Yes" then congratulations for making it into the good books of the insurance company. Auto car insurance providing companies will go lengths to have you as their customer.
Now lets think about a scenario where in you have been paying the premium for an auto car insurance and your car has an accident. Now, if your car is totaled then to will be paid on the base of the actual cash value (ACV) of your vehicle immediately before the incident.
In another case, if your car suffers minor damage you will have to pay the deductible, and the company will make the rest of the payment if the cost of the damages is more than the deductible. Auto car insurance is necessary for you. It is better to play it safe and be insured, instead of taking such a huge risk that can make a hole in your wallet if any untoward incident happens.
